HiKOKI CJ36DAW2Z 36V Multi Volt Brushless Cordless Jigsaw

High-performance 36 V cordless professional jigsaw with brushless motor, 160 mm wood-cutting capacity, four-stage orbital action, Auto Mode, tool-free blade changing, LED illumination, and Multi Volt battery technology.

Category: Industrial Tools / Cordless Power Tools / Jigsaws

Purpose: Designed for demanding straight, curved, contour, pendulum, and bevel cutting in wood, mild steel, stainless steel, plastics, panels, and other compatible construction and workshop materials.

⚙️ What It Is

The HiKOKI CJ36DAW2Z, formerly associated with the Hitachi Power Tools brand, is a professional 36 V cordless jigsaw from the HiKOKI Multi Volt platform.

It uses a high-efficiency brushless motor, providing strong cutting performance with reduced maintenance and motor wear compared with conventional brushed designs. HiKOKI specifies a variable no-load stroke rate of 800–3,500 strokes per minute and a substantial 26 mm blade stroke.

The machine provides a maximum cutting capacity of 160 mm in wood, 10 mm in mild-steel plate, and 3.2 mm in stainless steel. It can also perform curved cuts with a minimum radius of approximately 25 mm and bevel cuts up to 45°.

A four-position orbital-action system allows the operator to adapt the cutting motion according to the material and required finish. HiKOKI also integrates an Auto Mode function that adjusts the stroke rate according to operating conditions, helping reduce unnecessary vibration during no-load operation while still providing high speed under load.

The CJ36DA also includes tool-free blade changing, an integrated LED work light, chip-blowing function, and a lock-on switch for continuous cutting.

🔄 Compatibility

The CJ36DA is designed for HiKOKI’s Multi Volt battery system.

Compatible Multi Volt battery packs provide 36 V operation for suitable HiKOKI tools while also supporting compatible 18 V machines within the system.

The closely related CJ36DAWRZ kit is supplied with two BSL36A18X Multi Volt batteries and a UC18YSL3 charger, while the CJ36DAW2Z version is supplied without battery and charger.

Compatible jigsaw blades should be selected according to:

• Softwood
• Hardwood
• Plywood
• MDF
• Plastics
• Mild steel
• Stainless steel
• Other compatible materials

Always verify blade length, shank type, tooth pitch, and material rating before installation.

🛠 Installation & Maintenance

Remove the battery before replacing the saw blade, adjusting the base, cleaning, or performing maintenance.

Install a suitable blade using the tool-free blade-change mechanism and confirm that it is securely locked.

Select the appropriate speed and orbital setting according to the workpiece. Lower orbital action is generally preferable for harder materials and cleaner cuts, while higher settings can increase cutting speed in suitable wood.

Keep the blade holder, guide mechanism, ventilation openings, LED area, chip blower, base plate, dust collector, and battery contacts clean.

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

• Remove the battery before changing blades.
• Wear suitable eye and hearing protection.
• Secure the workpiece before cutting.
• Keep hands away from the moving blade.
• Use the correct blade for each material.
• Do not use damaged or bent blades.
• Reduce orbital action when cutting metal.
• Check for hidden cables or pipes.
• Use dust extraction where appropriate.
• Use only compatible HiKOKI Multi Volt batteries and chargers.
• Follow HiKOKI operating and battery safety instructions.
